How fast do messages arrive?
Seconds within Bluetooth range. Beyond that it depends on how many people are aboard running the app, and how much they move.
If the person you are messaging is within Bluetooth range — roughly 30 metres, so the same restaurant or the deck below — it arrives in seconds.
Further than that, the message waits for someone to carry it. How long that takes depends on how many people aboard are running the app and how much they are moving around. A busy pool deck at midday is quick. A quiet corridor at three in the morning is not.
We deliberately do not print an average delivery time. We would have to measure it across real sailings at real densities to know, and until we have done that, any number we gave you would be a guess dressed up as a fact.
What we can tell you is the shape of it: direct range is immediate, and everything beyond that gets faster as more people aboard install the app.
Did that answer it?
If not, tell us what is still wrong — that is how this page gets better.
