Crew and their families never pay. Here is why.

To get it out of the way: CruiseChattr is free for crew, and free for the family waiting at home. Not a trial, not a discount, not free for the first contract. Both ends, permanently.
That is not generosity. Crew are aboard for months and carry the most reliable phones on the ship, which is what makes the mesh work for everyone else. You are the network. Charging you for it would be absurd.
And the specific problem we started with was a crew member with no way to reach home — not a passenger who wanted to find the pool deck.
Passengers buy a pass. You do not, and neither does whoever you are calling.
