A small ship by modern standards — 1,266 passengers — and that is the reason to book her.

She dates from 2002, so expect a refit or two in her history. Ask about cabin condition rather than assuming — refurbished and un-refurbished cabins on the same ship can be years apart.

You will not find waterslides or an ice rink. What you get instead is access: smaller ports, fewer tender queues, and a ship you can cross in a couple of minutes.

Passenger-to-crew is around 3.3 to 1, which is on the lean side. Expect queues at the pinch points.

From her deck plan: a spa, a dedicated kids area and a sports deck. That is what the layout shows — if something has been changed in a refit, correct us.

Cabins run from deck 3 to deck 7 across 5 decks. The usual advice applies and applies harder on a ship this shape: mid-ship and low is the steadiest ride, and what sits directly above your cabin matters more than the view out of it.

If you know this ship, the question people keep asking is which cabins to avoid. That answer only exists in people who have stayed in them.
