Is an interior cabin actually unbearable?

Overblown — but not for the reason people argue about.
The window is not the problem. Pitch black at 8am is either the best sleep of your life or mildly unnerving, and you already know which one you are.
What ruins an interior cabin is what sits above it. Under the pool deck you get deck chairs dragging at six in the morning. Under the buffet, the same. Above a nightclub, bass until two. Beside a lift shaft, all week.
The cabin you want is mid-ship, low, with other cabins above and below it. Interior versus balcony barely matters next to that.
So read the deck plan, not the price. And if you have had a bad one, name the deck — that is the bit nobody can look up.
